Project Cars

Project Police Car

When the club was formed in 1994, we wanted something that would aid us in the promotion of our club. We looked for something different yet nostalgic that the community could identify with and that children would be interested in. Most of all it had to be a fun vehicle that all could be proud of and enjoy. Well nothing stands out better than a red light flashing, siren wailing, black and white police car!

In August of 1995 we found an old '56 Meteor Niagara that had spent the last twenty years sitting in a field north of Winnipeg. Club member Barry Levandosky donated the $100 purchase fee to the club and our club project was flat-decked back to town. For the next year club members met at least once a week and we performed a full rotisserie restoration on the club police car. This is the result!

- 292 cu. in. Interceptor V8, fully rebuilt by Piston Ring Service, bored 0.030 over with '57 Ford style Holley four-barrel carburetor and '57 Ford distributor with Pertronix Ignitor. Dual exhaust system

- Ford-O-Matic transmission, 3.22:1 ratio rear axle

- Power steering, power brakes, tinted glass, clock, radio delete.

- Dual lamp revolving beacon, fender stop light, twin parcel shelf lights.

- Siren, Motorola radio, whip antenna, Lucas driving lamps
